I was hopeful when i saw this thread that i'd find pics.
That Krieger link doesn't help a whole hell of alot, because it doesn't show what it looks like on a rifle. I understand many people have gotten it to a art form knowing barrel dimensions, but i dont. I was always one of those kids that requires a picture to figure shit out.
Kinda like the hand dryers in bathrooms. Im always disappointed when bacon doesnt come out

just went through this with the 18" 308 barrel I just ordered. Took me 2 weeks to decide what contour, and what the diameter would be at the muzzle. Finally decided on a bull for my savage build, which came out to 1" at muzzle at 18". Check out the picture threads and sift through them. Time consuming, but gets results. I finally came across two pics of rifles that helped me decide, but took me two weeks of looking for them.
Any certain contour or length combination you are looking for?

For 22LR based rounds you can get integrally suppressed barrels. I do not believe they have anything such as that for centerfire.
When it comes to barrel contours, I think you will be hard pressed to find a better combination of rigidity to weight than that of a medium palma contour. That is very close to what came on my TRG and the accuracy is phenomenal. I can understand huge barrels for benchrest and thin barrels for a light weight hunting rifle. However, as far as tactical rifles are concerned, I think the medium palma is the way to go.

Yes, that includes the 2 pound NF, a 26" would be more than I would want to carry around.

Basra, I like the top! What does it weight? Is that a HTG stock or what? I was thinking A-5 or HS precision's take off with a paint job...I think the HS would be way better to carry.

KPK - It is the McM ADJ HTG with an added foreend rail and flush cups.
I've never weighed it (wife won't have bathroom scales in the house
)....but I'd say around 14to 15lb all up - it is certainly lighter and more "portable" than my AW!!
From memory the barrel weighs about 7 or 8lb
The basic rifle is the standard GAP M40A1 build with a couple of small tweaks
