Gunsmithing barrel cutting service??

im not quite sure if this is the right place to ask, but i was wondering if anyone on here would allow me to send my rem 700 barrel to have it cut down? im having a hard time finding a smith in my area that will do it...not sure why. im looking to have it cut to 20''. anyone on here willing to do that?? thanks

look up Hooper here on the hide. top notch work and a fast turn around time at a great price. not that you can go wrong with LA Precision, GA Precision, APA, or RD Precision. but you'd probably have a longer wait time for a small project with them due to all the custom rigs they build. Hooper sorted my cut and crown out in 2 weeks door to door.

You are in York PA... A stones throw away from some of the top benchrest gunsmiths in the USA. Have you tried any of these smiths.

haha, never heard of any of them. guess im still a little green in the crowd of long range shooters. i may look into them. thanks

I can take it down for you, but only if the barrel is off the action; if not you'll have to bring it to me. Will indicate bore to nearest .0001 to 20" OAL and cut an indicated crown for you. No problem. PM me if you're interested.
