I have narrowed it down between these two barrels
18 223 JP with thermal dissipator
18 DMR Odin Works
I like the "value" and fact that the JP comes with a matched bolt, and I really like the idea of the thermal dissipator.
The JP checks all my weight constraints, and checks all my boxes. I only question the accuracy and how good can I make it. I will be handloading for both barrels.
I have heard the JP stuff can get picky on ammo
The only knock on the Odin is weight for my wants (it really is a standard weight for everything else) .....it weights the same as the WOA spr barrel I had and really prefer not to go that heavy again with a build. If I was gonna do that I would probably run the 16 in WOA SMD and call it done...... but I like the idea of having a 16 and 18 of more of a precision minded gun.
Basically have a 18 in and a 16 in in a more precision centerd family if you will, to go along with my "blaster guns" I already have
With handloading the only question will be: I will truly tailor the load to the 18 in, will the same load shoot reasonable enough in the 16 in of the same brand?
Meaning if the 18 in shoot a load that is 1/2in ish what are the chances the same load will at least be sub MOA out of the 16in as well, being the same brand/manufacturer?
stupid and odd questions, I know. Help me decide.
What barrel would you choose between these two, for a family of barrels?
