A guy on another forum is claiming 14-16 THOUSAND rounds of barrel life for a 22-250. I have never owned that caliber, but I am not an idiot. Would there even be any rifling left after that many? How far would the throat have eroded to? Anybody have any pics or chamber casts from a really bad shot out barrel? I have always just rebarreled after accuracy issues couldn't be resolved.

only way there would be much rifling left after that is if he was shooting very reduced or subsonic loads .

I knew he was talking out his ass, but come on! That is nowhere in the realm of reality. I'm thinking more like 1500 max with full snort loads.

Ran about 3400 before rebarreling a 250, was running a fast twist and 80 gr bergers mildly.

I went 2500 and had substantial throat movement. Probably could have recut the barrel and got more.
