While recently parkerizing 380 barrel the plug in the muzzle end fell out after about 10 minutes in the park tank. When this happens, what would be the best solution to lap the barrel? JB bore paste?

Having had that happen to a rifle barrel that Weatherby did for me many years ago, I'd recommend casting a lead lap and lapping with 800 then 1000 grit lapping compound. The parking can be quite rough and JB isn't very abrasive. You don't want a mirror finish anyway. JMHO

If the reference to the .380 is not a typo, don't waste your time doing anything; just shoot it.
It poses no danger, and the effect on a pistol length barrel's accuracy is probably imperceptable.

My Parkerizing kits indicate anywhere up to 20 minutes, but I've had great results show up in as few as 5 minutes. I usually leave the part in for at least 10, but that's just me.

How much etching you get is diretly related to the roughness of the blasting.
Let's make the assumption that your barrel was plugged while blasting.
Therefore, the inside should be real smooth and the outside rough.
The park will darken the smooth interior, but it won't make it rough.
When I used to make AR barrels, we always blasted with plugs, then pulled the plugs before park.
As soon as the barrel comes out of the park, the bores got swabbed with oil.
Never had any problems with chromoly barrels fouling any more than a stainless barrel...

if you blasted with the plugs in, the park solution really wont have an effect. I wouldnt worry about it. 10 minutes does seem quite long. what temperature was the tank at?
