Gathering parts for a new build,haven't yet decided upon a stock but want to keep all options open at this time. Is the AICS chassis designed for a certain barrel profile?

I had a Heavy Palma in mine with plenty of room to spare.
I think you can go up to a MTU contour.

You can pretty much do a straight tube, but it'll be a PIG.
Think Medium to Heavy Palma if you have any desire to be able to pick up your rifle without help

Thanks guys,maybe doing it back asswords but was going to decide & get a barrel ordered while keeping all stock options open.
Probably should actually decide on a caliber!( too many options)

There is a huge amount of room. I think a 1.25" straight tube will still fit.

The hell with MTU, you can fit a truck axle on the AICS barrel channel!

yep, there's nothing in the way in front of the receiver. you could run a receiver diameter barrel with no taper and it would work, not that you would want to.

Yes sir, 1.250" or a truck axle as applicable will work within the AICS forend with no clearance issues. Best wishes.

I think you should be required to put the "It'll be a PIG" disclaimer after everytime you state that a 1.250 will fit.
