Barrel question

Re: Barrel question

I've never used chrome moly, so I can't comment on that.

However, I can say that I absolutely love my stainless barrels. They seem to clean up much easier, and you don't have to worry near as much about rust or corrosion as it doesn't happen near as fast.

If there are any cons to them, I haven't found them so far.

Re: Barrel question

I use stainless on most that I do. Relatively easy to work with and requires less maintenance. CM is a little more maintenance (to keep the rust down internally), but shoots just as well as SS, IMHO.

Some folks, and barrel mfg's recommend not using SS in freezing temps. Barrel stresses on the SS negatively change in colder weather. (I don't have those issues here)!
