Looking for a suggestion on a new project,I want match grade 18 to 21HEAVY (1.0 to 1.3in) with a 1-8 twist .223 with some nice deep fluting. who would be the best manufacturer with a fair price for such a thing?

Fluted barrels will run $300 to $400 for stainless as for best that's a Ford / Chevy debate. As for fair price that's up to you.

Well I figured on paying between 3 and 500 dollars, I'm just curious what brands you all would recomend over any other, if at all. and if relevant, why you prefer them. and one with a short delivery time.

Rock Creek <--least longest???? and my choice in barrels, but I would not hesitate to use any of the others
Bartlein <--3rd longest?
Krieger <--2nd longest?

I have a Kreiger and its been a great tube, but I was wondering also if the rock or barlein have deeper flutes than the kreiger. I like the look of the deeper flutes. Thanks for the info.

My Rock had deep flutes, just tell them you want it with deep/heavy flutes and they will do it for you.

FWIW- I just bought a Krieger and had it delivered to my door within about a month and a half. I called Bartlein initially but they quoted me a 6-month wait. Barrel price fell within your price range with fluting and 5R rifling.

Don't overlook Brux as well, their reputation for excellence among BR shooters is growing and their customer service is rumored to be unbelievably top notch.

Ditto. I put Brux barrels at the top of the list along side Kreiger and Bartlein. All 3 of these barrels are a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10.
