I'm looking to thread the barrel of my Rem .308. Is there a standard thread size? If so, what is it? I'd like to find a compensator/muzzle brake.

For .308 I think 5/8x24 tpi (0.625"x24 tpi)is most common. I've noticed 1/2x28 tpi is most common on AR's.

Pick your muzzle device first, that will dictate your required threading. That having been said, most .30 cal muzzle devices and suppressors are 5/8x24 tpi as the poster above commented. If you find on that isn't that thread pitch you might want to reconsider it for one that is 5/8x24 tpi.
