Gunsmithing Barrel Vice for 2012 AIAX

I picked up a 2012 vintage AIAX with a factory 308 barrel. It also came with an Accuracy Ordnance AI replacement 6.5 barrel.

I've ordered an Adams action wrench.

Now I need to order a barrel vice. Is there anything in particular I need to consider in a vice for AI barrel changes? Any recommendations of a quality vice?

I was thinking about ordering a Viper barrel vice, but thought I'd ask opinions first.

Dennis also make a great barrel vise and will spin you up the correct inserts to appropriately fit your barrel with no chance of spin or finish damage. Chad at LRI was in the process of making a similar barrel/sleeve system, not sure if he has them ready for sale or not. The "Viper" type of vice will work but depending on barrel diameter you might have to really crank it down for a good hold and that can mare your finish. The investment just depends on how many changes you plan to do.

I use the viper for my AIAW, which uses the same barrel torque yours does. Works great. For the money, i dont think it can be beat.
