The 16" versions are available. I believe EuroOptic has them. Not sure about the Long range model.
Neither version has been released yet ! Barrett will be releasing them Post Shot Show . Possibly looking at 2-3 months out from now before they're in supply chain.
The standard 16” version is available. Black and FDE have already hit my distributors. I’m waiting to chat with a friend who got hands on time with it at SHOT.
OP: between what your looking at id default lean towards the JP. it’s a masterpiece. I will never sell mine. Had a Seekins that was an excellent rifle and at almost half the cost of the JP it’s a hell of a bargain in comparison but IMO not at the level the JP is.

Will be interested to see one with a longer tube and adjustable stock. If you're stuck on a factory gun the Barrett or those mentioned above are great products. You could also build and do so in under an hour. Proof barrel (on high end), JP low mass BCG (on high end), adjustable gas block and Geiselle SSA-E trigger, as the heart of the weapon, with pick your poison for the rest of the rig. You'll be ahead on cost as well.
Just got mine out yesterday. So far I’m really impressed. It probably has something to do with the m4-72 brake, intermediate gas system and the JP scs I put in it, but it is easily the softest shooting .308 I’ve shot yet. I tried it against my scar 17 and it’s definitely smoother. As for accuracy it did pretty well for being a brand new CL lightweight barrel. The scar liked the lighter milsurp ammo better than the rec-10, but I boil that down to the scars 1-12 twist. With match ammo they were dead even and my best groups with both rifles were with 168g fgmm. Overall I’m really liking the Barrett. It’s lighter, has less recoil and much better ergonomics compared to the scar. The first two groups are men 147g and the second two are fgmm 168g. Barrett is the 1st and 3rd groups. Scar 17 is 2nd and 4th.

Is Barrett using Bartlein blanks for the REC10? I just got one in. I also want to test drive it against my 17. SCAR has a 13" barrel, but it's a shooter. Never had issues holding MOAish with it. I'm going to try to run a shootout between the 2 this weekend. I'll post up some targets, etc.
Maybe for the long range models. The carbine barrels are 4140 cmv. I love mine so far. My only issue is it says it comes with a hydraulic buffer and mine didn't. maybe that's only for the long range models too. didn't really end up mattering though because i just threw in a SCS anyway.
It's such a small difference is strength. I'd say either are going to provide higher durability in sustained fire than 416. Not trying to start a pissing match about that though. I'm more just looking for accuracy feedback.

Does anyone have a more recent opinion of the REC10? Seems like a solid gun with the narrow selection of AR-10's?
Yeah, these got a lot of attention when released then nothing for the last year.
I spoke with a Barrett rep today. He said they are planning the launch of new variants towards the end of this year or start of next year at the latest. None of the Barrett stuff seems to get any publicity whatsoever. Nobody talks about REC7’s or 98B’s. Maybe the price of their bolt guns and the commonality of AR’s washes them out of the mainstream market.

Maybe they ran out of room for the ‘A’ and ‘L.’ They probably only fit on the flat triggers. I’m sure Geissele doesn’t mind, either.
How is it for reliability? Have you had any issues with different ammo or running a suppressor?
Just got the can out of jail on Wednesday, so this was my first time running it suppressed and it was great. Probably 60 rounds of 3 or 4 different kinds and didn’t have any issues at all. Blowback wasn’t bad with the Nomad-30 either.
