Anyone have any opinion good or bad on Barrett Zero Gap rings. I called them yesterday. They are machined in house by Barrett and not farmed out to some other manufacturer; a point which goes a long way with me. I am also intrigued by the zero gap concept. Any thoughts? They are a little pricey, especially up against a known force in the industry Seekins.

Re: Barrett Zero Gap Rings

I field tested a set for Scott at Liberty Optics.

On a brakeless lightweight 7mm RUM, I have been more than impressed with them. They are very well made and do the job they're intended to do. My opinion of them is very high.

Good info y'all. Anybody know if they need to be lapped or if anyone has had any issue marring a scope using them??? Some say to lap everything. Seekins says no........ I just don't know.

I have them on several guns and they work great. You can download the instructions off Barrett's website and I'm pretty sure it says not to lap them. I especially like the ExRings for long range applications. Same zero gap technology with 15/40 adjustable MOA. You will not be disappointed with Barrett rings.

When I bought my Barrett M99 Kit, it came with a Bushnell 3200 Elite scope on it with the Barrett Zero Gap X-High rings.

The Bushnell glass wasn't to my liking so I pulled it off, sold it and kept the rings. When I took the rings off, there weren't any markings on the scope at all. The scope still looked brand new.

I used the Barrett rings to mount a SS 10X42 on the M99. I wasn't very happy with that glass either so I took the SS off, and used the Barrett rings to mount a Sightron on. The SS scope was the same as the Bushnell scope, no marks and still looked brand new.

I mounted the SS scope to my M107 using some Super Sniper rings from SWFA and after mounting, I wish I had spent the extra money and gotten another set of Barrett rings.

I really like how the ZERO Gap rings mount, and as others mentioned, make sure you follow the Barrett mounting instructions.
