Is this chrome molly or stainless? Numbers are cm34612 but says ss under the .308?

Gotcha, what does the cm stand for? I was thinking maybe chrome molly

I just looked at one of my bartlein 6mm blanks. it's ss, marked exactly as yours. The other # starting with cm is their serial/sequence #. It's just coincidence yours starts with CM.

The CM##### is the serial number. The CM is the material code for that heat lot of stainless steel. All of our Chrome-Moly is currently being made out of material that will begin with an R series.
