Bartlein Carbon Wrapped Barrels

I put together 4 6.5 PRC's built by Spartan Precision for a couple buddies. Lone Peak Razor Ti, Mesa precision stock, trigger tech primary, 24in Bartlein Carbon. The group on the left is shots 3,4,5 down the barrel. The group on the left is shots 2,3,4 all using factory eldX. To say the came out perfect is an understatement.... big shout out to CS Tatical for the help gathering parts so quickly and Marc at Spartan is unreal!!

Have these stocks been hydro dipped?

After looking at some of the pics of the 6.5 PRC's in this thread.....I think I need a moment......

The attached spread sheet is for reference. We picked 6.5mm for the bore size to get the weights. Bigger or smaller bore will effect the weight a little.

For reference a #14 M40 contour at 26" all steel barrel weighs approx. 6.2#.

Bartlein Barrels
Is it correct to assume this is just a blank?

Just Picked my 28 Nosler up from 5x5 percision. Chad did and amazing job. Was so excited to get it in a stock i pulled my 300 win mag and test fit it in that stock while i wait for the Mcmillian i ordered to come in. the Weight was with out the bipod

Just got my rifle done with a 24” 1:7.5tw varmint contour chambered in 6.5prc from Spartan Precision Rifles. Going to have the action, barrel shank, muzzle and brake cerakoted tomorrow and then put some rounds down range next weekend. Barrel is gorgeous. A bit heavier than expected but it’s a pleasant surprise as I’ll put a decent amount of rounds through it so hopefully there’s no heat issues.

Just received my newest 22” Bartlien CFW in 300 WM, scoped rifle is 6.5 SAUM 22” Bartlien CFW. Thanks for the great barrels for my project. Looking forward to using the 300wm on a moose hunt in November.

Mine will be built by Strait Jacket as well, I live 30 minutes from them.

Waiting on my barrel from GA precision, ordered a 20" 8 twist 30 cal green #4 carbon on November 11th. They said 5-6 months, so April-May. Does anyone know if they have been keeping their timelines?

XLR Element 4.0 magnesium chassis, carbon stock/grip, folder
3 rd AICS mag
Bat Vampire mag bolt face
Vortex precision (Seekins) rings
March 2.5-25x52
Jewel HVR

All together minus barrel, is 6 lbs even. Will also have a Silencerco harvester can on it, so add 11 oz to that. Figuring the barrel around 2 lbs 6ish oz once all the machining is finished, so all up with the can, 9 lbs +- a couple ounces. Should be a sweet pack rifle.

Has anyone ordered a mod bb cfw blank yet? Thinking i need that in my life for a 22 creedmoor hunting build.
I have one in 7mm on the way (8.5 twist 20” finish length, 400MODBB CF). It should be here in Feb or March. I’m going to chamber it in 7SS.

Mine is at straight jacket. Going to see if the new material is as bad ass as they say. Hot rod 257 Roy for deer and wolves.

Random but does anyone know if i could fit a #4 on a sako 85 hunter stock without taking away too much of the foreend

#13? Or #3? If its a Bartlein its in the order of number but if its another manufacturer it could be larger. Really the best thing to do is take some measurements with a caliper.

#13 (Sendero contour) is correct, NOT #3. #4 Bull Sporter and #13 Rem. Varmint/Sendero are the only "sporter" contour carbon fiber wrapped. I have a #4 that is very nice but it's not a small profile sporter contour.

I’ve heard you can cut the carbkn on these to any length. Anyone able to verify that?

Not sure I understand the question but I was told it has to be an even number. I asked for a 21” finish and was told it had to be a 22”
Depending on what you plan to build you can cut off some of the shank end to get a 22" down to pretty close to 21". On both of my 7MM-08 builds per Frank Green he said no problem taking off a bit as long as it wasn't some sort of big magnum. My 24" barrels ended up just over 22" once finished and have been great shooters! But that would be removing metal and not the CF wrap.

Are they still making #4s? Trying to find a 7mm blank to snag one for this 7prc build.

Bartleins are 25” to finish at 24”, or 23” to finish at 22”
I’ve got a spare 23” #4 with 8.5 twist I’ve been saving for a 7mm08 build. @Oregonmuley has me watching his builds!
