Both are VERY high quality barrels and will perform exceptionally well in comparison to each other. I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger on either one. It really all comes down to what you want, how long you want to wait, etc., etc.

As for Kreiger...are you SURE that they don't have barrels ready to ship? As of last week, they had at least a dozen different LR-308 and M110 barrel blanks in inventory! If they have one in stock and ready to roll...they should be able to get one in your hands in a month or so (they'll need your bolt for proper chambering, headspacing, etc.).

You can't go wrong with either. I have and use both but I would go Bartlein if I had to be pushed to a choice.

Always good to run into a fellow "Mountaineer" here on the Hide!!

I didn't realize you were getting anything more from them than just a complete barrel. For a complete upper receiver group build...that is probably about right give or take a couple weeks.

If Bartlein can get it done for you faster (4mos vs. 6mos)...then your decision is already MADE as far as I'm concerned.

Re: Bartlein vs Krieger for LR 308?`

Sorry for the obvious question but did you check any dealers for their inventory status? When I've called Krieger before, they gave me a few high volume dealers that carry decent inventory (like Bruno's in AZ).

Had a barrel in less than a week.
Both brands are great -- I guess I am partial to Krieger but would have a hard time defending the position over Bartlein.

I ordered an M110 barrel from Krieger a few days ago. They had 1-12s and I believe 1-10s left. And its only about 3 weeks after they get your bolt. But thats if you want their M110 bbl in said twists.

Re: Bartlein vs Krieger for LR 308?`

Things may have changed, but Bartlein used to not make Ar-10 type barrels. Last i knew you could buy a blank and have a smith contour it, but not a ready made AR10 barrel from Bartlein.

Either one will be a good barrel. I order Bartlein. I usually call Krieger and ask them what they have in stock that customers have not picked up.

Re: Bartlein vs Krieger for LR 308?`

The new GAP-10 rifles all run Bartlein barrels and they are very accurate. I just recently ordered one and can't wait to get it in.
