I'm new to this gun thing, I bought a 700 5r in 308 and a vortex viper pst 6-24x50, now I need to order some rings for it I'm thinking I'll get a 20 moa base so I don't know what size rings? Low med or high? Also any suggestions on rings? I've been told Burris zee sigs with the inserts to keep your scope perfect. I read the FAQ but since I must order both online I can't measure.

I have a Rem 5R in 308 also. I have the Seekins rings and 20 moa mounts. They are excellent. You won't be disapointed. Got mine from Scott at Liberty Optics.

I'm running a EGW 20MOA mount with the Burris low XTR rings with a Sightron SIII 8-32 (56 objective). The scope has roughly .050 - 0.075" clearance to the barrel. Haven't physically measured it but the covers fit! The vortex would have slightly more clearance.

I ordered the same seekins set up for my 5r. I spoke with seekins and they suggested medium height rings with their 20 moa bases. Scope is a Nightforce 50.

My NF 50mm has plenty of room in low rings.

Yeah, I see. I wonder why they suggested the medium rings? I'm going to have to call them and follow up on this. Your set up looks fine!
