Guys I am having a HELL of a time getting a REAR base to match up.

Rifle:

5 digit Winchester M70 (LONG ACTION) .308.... EARLY 40's production Target

I have tried base: Burris 2 piece # 410605 - BUT the holes are TOO close together.

I have measure the REAR holes for the REAR piece base and NEED one with a hole spacing of:

.225 - Center to Center as close as I could get

The Burris was approximately .125

ANYONE have one or know how to get one would be greatly appreciated. This has to be a 2 piece setup as this rifle has olympic sights from factory...

Thanks
Matt (LEO SOUTH GA)

*Had this posted in the bolt rifle section but figured I would get more help here*

Re: BASE? Winchester L/A M70 (.308)

I have a winny l/a m70 30-06 on steroids for my lr gun. I ended up with a badger one piece but if I recall correctly night force has a two piece otherwise leupold makes a decent dove tail 2 pc depending on your application.

Might be apples to oranges here, because of the different years involved. But I have a new win mod 70 in 7 mag, and went with a two piece base from Warne.

Not saying you dont know how to measure center to center so don't take this wong, but the spacing seems really close. Make sure that you measure the gap between the holes and add one hole to that number.
