From the cast, this looks like a better than decent flick. When I first read they were making a film based on the game "Battleship" last year I thought, "WTF??" but now it's on my must-see list.
Looks fun and looks like they're not using hot-ass to try to fill seats like so many recent skin..err action flicks. (maybe after Xformers they figured it out?)
It's been out here in New Zealand for a few weeks - exciting but predictably stupid. Not a "fun movie" on the level of "The Avengers" and really only worth it to see all of the crazy action. Well, that and that B.Decker chick
Wife, buddy and I just saw it. Much better than expected. More of an homage to the board game, and the trailers were a tad misleading. The action and special effects were excellent. The bit part played by a real Soldier (Colonel Gregory D. Gadson)was a nice touch as well.
Depends on your theater. We have a new one with great sound and seats, so prefer getting rocked by the sound waves. Per the wife this morning, we are getting the blue ray when it comes out...
I quit listening to the career movie critics after the rave review of the hurt locker. I haven't agreed with them since, and will make my own decision from now on. Iam not looking for life changing movies but only entertainment. Explosion, car chase shooting and hot chicks do that just fine.

I'll agree, where guys. blow some stuff up, make it loud and its a good movie
Being a Naval Aviator, I never thought I would spend a year in Iraq in an Army unit trying to Counter the IED threat to our troops. It is happening everyday in Afgan, Horn of Africa, etc. Working Joint is the norm.
I must be in the minority... Rented it last night after hearing about the effects and CGI. While they were pretty darned good the movie was over the top corny for me for the 2nd 1/2 of it...
