Anyone know more than what hte pics show?

Does it have any value? My sensei is thinking of selling it - he's had it a long time...

Re: Bayonet Identificatin, 1909 argentina?

Looks to be an Argentine Mauser bayonet. It's in nice shape. Doesn't appear to have been sharpened or shortened. Not a high-dollar item but there are a lot of Mauser collectors out there. I'd guess less than $100.

Yeah that's what I found when I started yahoo'ing on it - in mint shape it's worth $100, not worth him selling...

If it were for a K98 or an M1903 I'm thinking he'd sell it ...

I'd agree it looks like an Argentinian "contract" Mauser bayonet- guess the word Argentino on the blade gives it away

....pretty much identical to some Model 1895 Chilean Mauser bayonets on EGay right now. They're on "Buy it Now" for $39.99

If I was him at that price, I'd hang on to it....you never know when a decent length of cold steel could come in handy!
