Gunsmithing Bedding Issues???? Your avice please/

I have a remington 5r with the HS precision stock. I developed a load for it and it was shooting .75 to .5 consistantly. 3 range trips and 3 different loadings... I then decided to bed it. After bedding it with acraglass the gun shot 1 to 1.5 with the same load. The bolts were torqued to specs and the scope and base were tight and there was no wind to speak of.


WTF Happened?

Make sure the bolt handle isn't hitting the stock
the magazine box isn't bound up
That the barrel isn't touching someplace it shouldn't

That's the easy stuff to check. The rest requires some instrumentation.

How was it bedded? Might snap some pics and post them up. Someone might see something that was overlooked.

Did you take off your scope while you were bedding? check your mount, and rings to be sure everything is down tight.

If it ends up being the bedding, dremel it out and start again, but use Devcon 10110 or Brownells Steel bed next time, much better stuff than Acraglass.
