My daughter was born 2 years ago and as a result shooting has kind of taken a back seat. But I've had a bit of an itch I'd like to scratch (possibly). I know stuff changes in the industry pretty regularly so the information that I had 2 years ago when I was following this stuff is probably out of date. My 'main squeeze' is a Jon Beanland built 260 Rem based on a Bighorn TL-2 SA with a 24" Krieger 1:8 in a McMillan ADJ-A5 stock and that rifle is basically flawless in every measurable regard, I will never sell it. Has anyone here had him build an ULR rig? I want something excessive, possibly a 375 CT, 408 CT, 416 Barrett or 50. I have a private range at my disposal that has steel on it out to over a mile. I've done the 338 lapua thing but my reasoning is if I'm going to spend that much money on brass, powder and bullets I might as well just go wide open and build something special. So if you were going to build a ULR rig, which cartridge would you base it on, and who would you have build it, and why?
