Benelli M4 Ammo

Hey guys,
I'm looking for some info on special purpose ammo for a Benelli M4.

I know it will chew up standard 2 3/4 and 3" including low recoil stuff. What I don't know is if it will work with special purpose stuff like breaching rounds, flares, non leathal etc... etc...

If there are any restrictions what are they?

Thanks
R.

Re: Benelli M4 Ammo

I want to say that it will not reliably cycle low recoil rounds like less lethal. When I was in the Marine Corps, we switched over from 870s to the M4s, and then they had to get issued Mosberg 500s for the less lethal stuff. That was my biggest complaint; we now had to deploy with two shotguns when one pump gun could have done both jobs. The M3 would have been a better choice for the military.

yeah the M3 is nice. I had one back in the mid 90's and I remember having the same issue the light loads.
I was under the impression Benelli had fixed the issue with the M4, guess not.

But let ask, it will process the round, you just have to run the bolt after, right? Meaning no issues loading or chambering etc...
Thank

Re: Benelli M4 Ammo

Mine eats almost anything I feed it. If it does not cycle on a leas lethal round go to malfunction drill. Slap handle, back in game. key is to practice. Gun will always cycle on heavy duty sh!t. That's my main concern. If I am using less lethal rounds it's because I can not deploy lethal rounds. If I am using less lethal rounds, threat is failing to complie not endangering life. The .4 seconds it takes to run handle will be okay in that situation. Plus it's a good chance it will cycle because it is not a recoil driven gun. Sips some gas and goes.

God that thing is so expensive...

My saiga will cycle them when i adjust the gas plug to the most position. but the M4 doesn't have that, and I don't think it recoils 'very low' recoil stuff.
