I got a bunch of IMI brass from a friend. I couldn’t see the usual staking, but they have tight primer pockets. Only had one do this.

Will this still go bang????

Did you cut the primer pocket crimp? I bet it will go bang. My Lee Loadmaster progressive has done that to a couple hand fulls of primers over about 20k rounds of 40S&W. They all went bang. I did that with a couple pieces of 223 brass that I didn't get the crimp cut all the way. They went bang also.

So here was my plan. I put the offending primed case in the gun. Placed gun on towel, bang! Deprimed, and cut the pocket more (yep I cut it before, not enough obviously), new primer went right in.
