Hey, new to the forum and “precision shooting“. Been shooting bolt hunting rifles my whole life and am typically happy w 1 MOA accuracy out of my T3’s and M70’s.

But just jumped into the deep end of the pool and bought a Bergara BMP in 308, and mounted a spare Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10x44 with a Z-600 retical that I had laying around, on top of a 0 MOA rail and Warne rings.

Went to my local range to zero it and proceeded to shoot 2 3-shot groups In the same hole at 100 yards with 175 gr Lake City Match ammo.

I’m hooked.

question....pros and cons of a muzzle brake?

If you are buying it to tame any recoil, a good one will certainly do that. However, anytime I ever add something to the end of a barrel, it shoots a different spot. They still group the same, but I have to re-sight in the rifle. Also, it will be a bit noisier behind and to the side of the rifle. All that aside, I like brakes on bolt guns .308 and bigger.
