Bergara B14 Ridge - trigger weight question

Bergara's manual says that the trigger pull must be 2.8 lbs or above. Is there any problem that will arise from installing a Jewell 1.5lb?

You may run into issues not being able to reduce the pull weight to 1.5#. Bergara uses a heavy firing pin spring and it leaves a lot of triggers with a higher than normal pull weight. It’s not going to be anymore unsafe than the trigger would normally be, but the 1.5# Jewel might actually end up being a 2-2.5# trigger.

That's for the factory trigger. Basically they don't want you doing anything but running the weight set screw in and out.

I haven't seen issues with aftermarket triggers in any b14. It's the b14R that uses a heavy striker spring for the 2 piece firing pin system.

Thank you.
