Hey guys, this is my first post on sh and I’ve been doing some research on reloading for the 6.5 prc on forums here and accurate shooter. Anyways, I haven’t found anyone that’s shooting a Bergara. Does anyone know the reamer they use? From what I’ve found Rl26, h1000 are the two most common powders used. The thing is I cannot find any rl26 in Canada. Have access to h1000 but a couple guys on other forums are saying that h1000 isn’t a suitable powder for the 6.5 prc. Long story short, my Bergara won’t be here for another 5 months, but I’m trying to stock up on stuff here because I won’t have money in 5 months (school). Any insight on reloading or shooting would be greatly appreciated.

H1000 will work fine in the 6.5 PRC, however, you'll be using alotta powder. I think i went as high as 58gr of H1000, others have gone higher. For me the H1000 seems to be slightly more accurate and cooler than RL26. RL26 will give better velocity than H1000, roughly 50-80fps more (load/bullet/primer/chamber/bbl length varies).
If you're not worried about velocity, RL23 works great too. Roughly 100fps slower than RL26. Seems to run a little cooler. I have a good load @ 53gr pushing 147ELD-M @ 2868fps. RL23 is also much more temperature stable than RL26 and H1000.
