Bergara HMR Pro

I've been shooting a Bergara LRP Premier 6.5CM, it's been a fantastic off the shelf rifle. The LRP has a chassis instead of the HRM stock-with-a-chassis-inside, but IIRC, the same "Premier" action/barrel/trigger/finish. The TriggerTech trigger is a joy. Almost zero take-up, just a crisp break and bang. I'm not sure I can imagine how a trigger could be much better. Shoots tight groups, and hitting 1 moa steel at 400 yards is boringly easy.

How is the recoil?

It all shoots fine, I had no time for fooling around with chrono, groups or getting all science-y. I zeroed with 147 ELDM at 100, and immediately started shooting from 1000 to 2000 yards. Hornady 147 ELDM is almost as fast as 140 ELDM (2695 vs 2710 fps), but better BC, so we shot 147 ELDM at a mile. After we shot all the 147 ELDM, we had to pick from 140 ELDM, 140 Winchester SMK and 140 Nosler match. The 140 ELDM had slightly better BC than the 140 SMK and same MV, so we shot that. The Nosler match has oddly lower MV (don't recall exactly , but like 100 fps slower), so I'm saving it for when we're only shooting 1000 yards. At 1000 yards, all the ammo could ring 20"X36" steel almost every shot.

So I’ve been looking at getting one of these rifles in 6.5mm Creedmoor or 6mm Creedmoor. Any experience with the HMR Pro would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm set on getting an HMR Pro but can't decide on 6 or 6.5.
