Buying a new rifle, other than velocity, need some advice about the 22” vs 24” barrel, does it make much of a difference between 500-1000 yards?

50-75 fps does start to make a little difference at 1000 yrds. You're going to be dialing anyway but it will help buck wind.

Figure a 40-70fps velocity loss with a 22” and run the numbers for whatever bullet you plan to use.

I run suppressed so I like shorter barrels, but if you won’t be then I’d just go 24” for the free velocity.

Other than velocity, no, its just 2 inches of steel for a few ounces of weight and length. But velocity is really the only thing that matters as far as the difference down range goes after its left your barrel.

Thinking a 6.5 creed this is a 140 eld at 2725

This is 50 fps slower at 2675

.4 mils, 13 inches in elevation
.1 mil, 2 inches windage.
