1 WEEK LEFT: This Target Haunts Me Contest
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I have new Berger 105 hybrid bullets, new Lapua brass and am using a Wilson micrometer seating die. The bullet starts in but then hits a wall and will not seat any further. Any ideas? Thanks
If you have to push that hard there's a problem...so 6br Lapua brass and 105 hybrids??
I'f you take the die apart does the seating step slide through the hole in the die body smoothly?? Wouldnt be the first time I had issues with Whidden seating dies and is the reason I only use Forster and Redding
You likely have to much powder in the case. If it's virgin brass and you use 30.4 grains Varget, like I did, you can't seat the bullet down far enough into the case with a .104 freebore. After the case has been fired once and sized it'll work. I reduced the load to 29.4 for the first firing, there's a node right there.
