I'm shooting a POF P-308 with a 16.5" barrel. I've had great luck with it, and am currently shooting the 155 A-Max at 2750 FPS. I've always shot it while only loading 5 or so rounds in the magazine at a time until this weekend. Had it out on private property shooting at 400 yards and noticed I was getting some fliers (1.5 inches outside the rest of the groups). After some tinkering around I figured out the fliers started at the last 10 rounds in the 20 round magazine, and the plastic noses of the bullets were smashed from recoil. Went back to loading 5 or less at a time and the problem went away. So I'm looking for a bullet without a plastic tip which is a bummer as I've been very happy with the AMAX so far, and they're quite inexpensive comparatively for a match bullet.

So anyway, thinking about the Berger 155.5 Fullbore due to it's ridiculous BC, and I've had great experiences with Berger bullets in other rifles. All that to ask this question:

Anybody shooting the Berger 155.5 grain Fullbore out of an AR, and do you have problems with the nose cavity getting smashed under recoil or loading cycle?

POF 20"
155.5 FB
44.6 8208
Win Brass
BR2 Primer
2.81 OAL
Little over 2800, very accurate, reached 1000 still snapping in Georgia.

I did not notice any thing that I would attribute to fliers from smashed noses, however don't recall ever pulling them out to inspect. This load was out of a C-products magazine which has more room then a Pmag. There was plenty of clearance from mag to nose of bullet.
