Berger 168gr 7mag

A friend just gave me 50 168gr VLD's to try in my 7mag. I currently use 162 sst's and have best luck with 63.5 gr of h4831sc seated about .010 off lands. Should I start at .010 with the Berger's or start with them just touching? The sst's started to get worse the closer I got to the lands.

If this rifle is for hunting or tactical shooting, I wouldnt touch the lands.

Would be hunting only. I hear allot of people saying Berger's do well around .015 off lands but I have no experience with them.

I have seen them shoot well at different lenghts. There is a good thread on how to make the bergers shoot well. It talks about making bullets .010 off, .020 off, and .030 off. Do a search and try to find it. If I find it I will put it on here. .015 wouldnt be a bad place to start though.
