Berger 175 OTM .308 Win

Re: Berger 175 OTM .308 Win

They shoot really well. Not sensitive to OAL, don't mind jumping a good bit. Hard to get them to shoot bad. Practically any book load will make them shoot really well. My favorite .308 bullet, only if they were cheaper.

Funny you asked...I just started working these up today with A-4064.

So far the sweet spot looks to be at 43.9, which should be about 2610fps

Lapua brass (fired 12+)
BR2 primer
A-4064
COAL 2.88

That is exactly what I am looking for! What kind of rifle are you using? Thank you.

I am going to be trying Reloader 15, Varget and IMR 8208XBR. </div></div>

Well, I started prepping today for loading these 175 OTM's... I have to say, I have never opened a new box of projectiles and had EVERY single one of them weigh exactly the same!

EVERY bullet in the box weighs exactly 175.0 gr. on the nose!! (Lot #4568)

Now I know why they cost the extra money... Very consistent!

Re: Berger 175 OTM .308 Win

I've been through around 1500 of these buggers over the last year in an FN SPR factory 24" 1:12 and have gotten results ranging from good to stunning. One lot #
(of which there are no more but the 500 in my cabinet) performs fantastic with repeatable 2'' 500 yd 5 shot groups. But only with that particular lot. In this rifle best results occur seated .015" into the lands and either 43 or 44 gr. Varget. More consistent results could surely be had with a better shooter and rifle. A new match barrel is a few weeks away with a faster twist (1:10) and I'm eager to test these as well as the 185's.
