Berger 90gr. VLD

Has anyone had any experience with this bullet out of an 8 twist barrel? Berger very obviously recommends a 7 twist, but I was hoping to give these a go out of my Rock 8 twist in 223AI.

It's not hard to like the G7 B.C. on this bullet, that's for certain.

I could get them to stablize out of an 8 twist 26 inch bbl but couldnt get them to shoot sub MOA at 300 yards. Will be trying them next in my 1-7.5 twist 30 inch Bartlien palma bbl.

You wont know till you test them though, but its going to be tough with an 8. Try the 82s, they are dang good and they dont care how deep they are in or out.

Thanks John. I have 1k Berger 80gr. VLD's on the way, but those 90 grain bullets really caught my eye. Given that I am shooting a 22 inch barrel, the experiment would most likely fail...it'll be fun to try anyway!

I promised my wife no new firearms this year, but a 7 twist 223AI sure would be something with those high BC bullets...
