I have developed a great load with the 168 vld hunting bullet in my .308 and I only have a few left. My local gun shop has the 168 vld target bullets in stock and on sale. Does anybody have any experiene comparing the two bullets for being interchangable with the same load? The BC is the same and length is the same. I would like to buy the target bullets and save some money but dont want to work up another load for a different bullet. Any help would be appreciated.

the only thing thats different is the jacket of the bullets.the hunting VLD has a softer jacket thats all.if you choose to hunt with them they might not open up as fast as the hunting VLD.but to keep a edge on your shooting skills you should be OK.

I have heard (seen on the internet here and elsewhere) that the two bullets are essentially interchangeable as far as loads go. But I've never tested this myself - yet (I have both on my shelf awaiting some load workups).
