Hi,

I have one series of handloads with VVN555 behind me. I was using Hornady ELM 130 gr. 42.5 gr of VVN555 gave the most promising results at 200m (0.5moa). Could you share your recommendations on the load for Berger VLD 140gr? I am using 6.5 CM 26" barrel, 1:7.5 twist? Should I start with 42gr and move up?

You are right. I am looking for "good powder charge" which I could use based on our colleagues' experience. Otherwise I have to load 50 bullets in 0.2gr steps.

I don't fully agree with an argument "every barrel is unique". I think that if you own a factory savage or tikka in a certain caliber, certain twist and there is a guy somwehere else, let's say in Australia working on a load development for the same rifle, his experience may be valuable for you. There is a significant probability that his load (bullet, charge, seating depth etc) will work with your rifle as well.

you are absolutely right. Therefore, when you share load data you provide as much details as you can- brass, primer, which dies you used, trimming routine, cbto etc. If sharing data and routine would not be of added value, this forum would be empty.
