I've got a box of berger 338 300 gr hybrids, had exceptional results from both sierras and scenars but when I saw the G1 BC =.891 I made an impulsive purchase, now I'm trying to find a optimal load w/ out great results so far. Does anyone have experience w/ these , if so what velocity is working for you, OAL and I've been told to soft seat this bullet, what distance of jump has been successful. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Also is 100 yard groups indicative of extended performance @ 500, 1000 1500 yards +, +. What distance is best to ladder my powder charges test at? Time is limited, I'd rather be shooting in the desert than testing at the range.

The 7mm Hybrids are reported to like around 15 thousandths of jump to the lands.

Pick a powder you're going to work from and load a min charge weight test of 3 rounds each.

touching
15 thou jump
30 thou jump
50 thou jump

You should get a visibly better difference from 1 of those

Take that seating depth and now work up your powder charge appropriately.

I have had great results with them! When i shot seirras and lapuas i had to jam them .020 in my gun. With the bergers i seat them .005 jump and they shoot well. They did not like to be jammmed in my gun but close to the lands. I shot two 5 shot groups at 100, at around .30 with 78gr of H 4350. i stil have not played with them much i think i can getting them shootin a little better.

appreciate you both weighting in, heading back out to do the paper as little duress as possible, then hopefully pound the steel into submission. Thanks Again.
