Best 300WM Powder for 190 gr. plus bullets

I got a 700 custom in 300WM with 26 inch bbl. with 1-10" twist. What powder works best for heavier bullets, specifically the 208gr A-MAX? I keep hearing about H1000. I Really like Hodgdon powders. Any thoughts?

Use RL 22 in my 208 Amax.

H1000 & 208 AMAX... RL 22 is/can be accurate but it is very temperature sensitive.

H1000 and 208 AMAX is what I use in my 300WM.

H1000 is the way to go if you don't want to have to worry about temp sensitivity. The H1000/208 Amax is a great combo.

Thanks very much all. Does the 208 A-MAX work as a hunting bullet? I know it aint made to hunt with but Ive heard people are using them on critters big and small and they work well. Any thoughts?

I love Reloader powders, RL-22 is great for the 300WM I load for.

R22= more velocity. H1000= temp stability. I personally use r22 for all my .300 win mag loads bc it is more accurate in my rifles. Although, it does suck trying to figure out how much fps I have lost on a 20 degree morning w/ a stud about 4 or 5 hundred away chasing does. That's why I bought 15 #s though
