Rifle Scopes Best $500-$600 scope

Re: Best $500-$600 scope

I don't know if it is the best in that price range, but I am very fond of my Bushnell 6-24x50 Elite 4200 30mm Rifle Scope model #426245T w/Mil-Dot reticle.

Excellent target turrets, Side focus, and reasonably clear optics right up to 24 X. The nicest thing about it is the thought that Bushnell put into the design. As a SFP scope Mil-Dot ranging usually can only be done at one power. Bushnell set the scope up for Mil-Dot ranging at 12x. So at 12x that is 1 MIL between the dots. At 24x there are .5 MILS between the dots, and at 6x there are 2 MILS between the dots. Not quite as good as an FFP scope, but better than most SFP designs.

Liberty Optics, a Hide supporter has them for $579.00 delivered.

Downsides are: Limited adjustment range of 50 MOA, is handled by use of a 20 MOA base. Reticle is a bit thick for small targets at long range, but great in low fading light.

I have mine mounted on a Rem 700 XCR Compact in .223. on Ken Farrell 20 MOA bases and with Leupold QRW Rings. An excellent value in the price range you are seeking.

Re: Best $500-$600 scope

I think Bobs choice would be hard to argue with.
I went with Burris signature but would have got a more tactical design if I did it again(as in something like bushnell 4200 probably).
One thing I like about my burris is the fine crosshairs.

I would love a mildot reticle FFP scope but for what I do and using the burris offset rings my burris works fine especially with the fine crosshairs.
There is $hit for scope adjustments and the clicks are 1/8 on the burris.

Again,,,I think Bob has the right idea and like mentioned,A more fine crosshair would be a big plus IMO.Not sure what there are for options on the bushnell in this area.

I really like my 4200 and as Metalhead said, don't know if it's the best choice but it's a very solid option.

Re: Best $500-$600 scope

The Bushnell is nice for sure, but Id have a hard time looking past the Falcon 5-25x56 (pretty sure there is a 50mm version in the works). A pard bought one, we were both damn impressed out of the gate with it. Couple months later of running the fuck out of it, Im even more impressed. Excellent scope for the $$$.

Re: Best $500-$600 scope

My father showed up to the range with a Hawke Frontier??? 4-16 Side Focus. I had never heard of them but it was a really nice scope. Pretty compact built well, worked flawlessly, and great glass. I wouldnt mind having one for my truck gun. Just a thought.. Again I had never heard of them but the price on the box was 580 something. They are Japanese and really look like a miniature NightForce.

Anyone have experience with these??
