On a SA. I am debating between what bullets I want to use. I would like to
Be around 3200-3300. What’s y’all thoughts ? I will be hunting whitetail, Mule deer , elk , pronghorn.

So far I have been experimenting with 143 eldx at 2.940 OAL. I haven't been able to get the powder I wanted to use- but with Reloader 25 I couldn't get to 3100 fps without pressure. I think the Hornady data showed 3150 fps as the max load but my barrel is slow or they over estimated. I was getting over 100 fps less on most charges vs what they showed. The load that I settled on is about 3000 fps but shoots good.

Shot placement.

Just work up an accurate and consistent round and hit the boiler room, not the whole animal.

3200 with a standard lead core bullet turns into a hand grenade on game. So shoot barnes fast or shoot heavier lead core bullets slower.
