Best areas to live in TX

Made it to TX! Found a spot in Highland Village on Lewisville lake. Love it so far - less metropolitan than Southlake, but everything we need is within a few miles. This will probably be the "tweener" house as we learn the area. Thanks to all who responded here and via PM.

I see a lot of talk here about Vidor.

There is a lot of racially oriented history in Vidor. I would do some serious research before moving there. Stay away from the big cities and you should be OK.
If anyone from California or New York is considering moving here, sorry, we just ran out of space.
