Best barrel contour for follow up shots

I was wondering what it the best barrel contour/rifling for fast follow up shots without being affected by heat.

What caliber?
What round?
How many follow up shots?
Are you looking at premium barrels?

Anything in the Palma light, med, heavy range should server you well. But without the details it's hard to know.

Most light weight barrels can handle 1-3 follow up shots such as those in a hunting situation. If you are talking about competition for example where you will be shooting round after round, I would definitely opt for the heavier contour. Caliber has a lot to bare on your question also.

Technically, the best contour for follow up shots is...none.

But, parcticality and application will dictate what is the best compromise.

straight 1.250 bull barrel would proabaly be the best. Not the most practical but would serve your question nicely. More information would be excellent.
