Guys, Im looking to buy my first LRF itll be used for shooting under 1000 yards, looking for the best I can get to start out under $500. Once I figure out whats goin on and get into longer range shooting I will then upgrade to something in a higher price point. Just looking for the best I can get to get started on limited funds.

Thanks for any help

and yes I have been using the search button and every thread I have found is talking about price points of $750----$2000 so a little ways away from what I can swing.

how about a leice lrf 1000?

you can get it from Opticsspecialist (here on the hide) for about 600 (i know, it's 100 above your limit of 500). while i never dealed with him, the discussions with him indicate that he knows his stuff.

Whats their to figure out? Point the thing, push the thing and youve got a range. In any case, cameralandny has zeiss PRF demos for around 500. They range past 1000 and imho are on the same level as the swaro.

Have you not seen the countless threads on the Bushnell 1600's? The mono is $500 at cabelas where I bought it, one of our sponsors could get you into it a decent amount cheaper.

I ranged house lights over 1000yds away last night while locating coyotes, half an hour or so before sunrise on the first stand, trees as far as I had them, 1600ish. This made life easy, and in very dim lighting.

Sun was out in the afternoon, things were bright, switched up the brightness setting quick, I was able to get a chunk of trees over 1800 yards.

The thing works, buy it, if it doesn't make you happy, Bushnell will refund you all of your money for one year.
You don't have anything to lose on this one, it's clear, it's functional, it flat out works and should it fail, you've got your money back.
