Gents I'm looking for a decent high power scope for a vudoo v22 I'm getting. Also considering it will be a 30moa rail and will want to shoot 25yards if possible.

So far I'm liking the vortex Golden Eagle 50x.

Yea 34+ power would be nice. For upto $1200 or so.

Take a look at the Athlon Midas TAC 6-24x50
FEATURES
  • HD Glass: HD Glass gives you better light transmission, brighter, and sharper image.
  • Non Illuminated Reticle: The non illuminated reticle provides greater visibility during dusk and dawn and other low ambient light environment.
  • First Focal Plane Reticle: First focal plane reticle stays valid at all power settings allowing you to fully utilize the specially designed reticle that shrinks or grows along with your target as you zoom in or out. The reticle offers quick target engagement at low power while offering precise holdover positions with finer details.
  • Etched Glass Reticle: Reticle etched on the glass that provides excellent backing support for complex reticle design and offers great durability and much higher shock resistance to recoil
  • Advanced Fully Multicoated: Fully Multicoated optics effectively reduces reflected light and increases the transmission of light giving you a brighter image than normal single coated lenses
  • XPL Coating: XPL Coating gives you an extra protection on the exterior lenses from dirt, oil and scratches or anything else mother nature can throw at you.
  • Precision Zero Stop System: The system allows you to lock down your zero position and dial back to it with a sharp and precise stop right at your zero mark even you are turning it in pitch-dark or blinded folded.
  • High Precision Erector System: The high precision erector system processed by high precision CNC machine with +/- 0.0001mm tolerance level to provide you the most accurate power settings and smoothest magnification change
  • Aircraft Grade Aluminum: The aircraft grade aluminum tube that has exceptional strength and superior mechanical integrity will protect these world class optics no matter what punishment you throw at it.
  • Direct Dial Elevation Turret: Exposed Direct Dial Turret for elevation allows you to quickly make adjustment as you needed and engage your target within a blink of your eyes
  • Capped Windage Turret: Capped Turret assures you that your zero on the windage is always there and gives you the flexibility to dial as well after taking off the cap
  • One Piece Tube Construction: Heat treated one piece tube gives the scope extra strength over multi-piece tubes. A one piece tube also is better at keeping moisture out thus keeping your scope fog proof for the life of the product
  • Waterproof: Waterproof to protect the scope in the harshest weather conditions or if accidently submerged underwater
  • Fog proof: Fog proof to allow you to immediately engage your target when you take your rifle to cold ambient temperature from warm inside
  • Shockproof: Robust mechanical system with special designs on both control and erector system that give you the ultimate recoil resistance to withstand 1000G recoil for 1000 times.
  • Argon Purged: Argon Purging uses the inertia gas with bigger size molecules to purge any moisture out of the tube giving you better waterproofing and thermal stability.

Have you used a high power scope before? Just asking as there are trade offs for that much magnification.

Of the scopes I've tried the Vortex is my favorite of the high magnification scopes in your price range, simple due to how well it handles mirage.

The nightforce BR 12-42 has one of if not the best eye box in your price range, if you can live with the parallax adjustment on the objective.

The Sightron's are nice for the price, but the glass is not quite as nice as the other options.

Haven't tried the Delta, but if @koshkin recommends it... it's probably worth consideration.

I do have one gun that's 40x (it's a aussie made marks optics) and a vortex viper 24x, few bushnell in the 18-24x range trophy/elite/engage

But this will be a target only gun, I understand Alot of the time I won't be able to use it but its nice to have.

Im leaning towards the Delta Stryker 5-50x56 it has 100moa of adjustment hoping I can run a 50moa rail to allow me to zero it at 25yards or so then streach it right out also.

I have a couple of videos on Youtube where I talk about Delta, SIghtron SV and Golden Eagle.

SV is a bit more expensive, but has some nice tricks up its sleeve. Lower priced SIghtron S3s are very good for the money.

Cheers for the videos. The Delta it is now just to choose mil/moa ect ect. Just waiting to get a quote back from the gun shop.

I ran a Golden Eagle on my Vudoo with a 20 MOA rail for some steel silouette matches and it worked great. I zeroed at 50 but my 25 yard data was the same as my 50 so no issues being at 25. Seeing as the GE has a listed 55 MOA of elevation you might be near the bottom on a 30 MOA base though.

Would u recommend a 40 or 30 then. My kids are just starting to shoot and as much they like to think they are long range experts. There just as happy hitting tin cans off a saw horse or my favorite cheap shovels which hold up supprizing well plus I have some kyl racks at 50 and 100yards at my place. Plus a few trees out further have targets crudely attached to them.

Hencce why the striker seems like the go to, plus locally (australia) it's more or less the same price as the vortex

Local range is 300yards plus a mate has a 500yard set up

You will definitely run out of elevation with a GE going to 500. If you were getting a Stryker with over 100 MOA of elevation then go to a 40 MOA base.

Either 30 or 40 would be fine. Since it is different for all rifles, I would probably get a 30 MOA rail and Burris XTR SIgnature rings with offset inserts. Start with a zero insert and sight in. Then adjust the inserts so that you are about 10 MOA away from adjustment range. That will give you near maximum adjustment range without sitting all the way at the edge of the adjustment.

Just an update. Ordered the Stryker delta 5-50 lgs had one sitting in a box for cheaper then I could find online.
They also found some burris xtr sig rings.
Then the vudoo, chassis and few extras.

Did spend 6k roday at gunshop though
