Best deal for Dillon equipment

I'm wondering where you guys have found the best deal for buying Dillon reloading equipment?

I have nothing as of yet in regards to reloading, but will be getting something this year. The regular searches on the internet haven't really produced much of a price difference between vendors that I've found, so I thought I'd check with some of you that have already bought equipment and see where you found yours at.

With buying new Dillon equipment I don't think you'll find big price differances. You can go to there website and find dealers. Or pick up a blue press magazine. My want to keep eye open on here & gunbrokeer and other gun sites. I don't have any Dillon equipment but I bought a kit from a friend and he upgraded to a Dillon 550. The 550 is a sweet machine.

PS there customer service it second to none!!!

You get a bit cheaper shipping if you order via Brian. I think his computer server just forwards the order to Dillon, and the whole thing just gets shipped by them, and Brian gets a small cut for being the dealer.

I've always had fine service with him.

Or Eds Brass will ship the press for free, but I believe charges shipping on the accessories. He has a better stock than his website shows, and is helpful if you give him a call.

I believe Dillon has a VERY strict MAP pricing schedule, so if you are buying from a Dillon dealer, it should be the same across the board.

I haev bought stuff from Brian Enos before and was very happy with the transaction(s).

Bought a 550 from Brian many years ago. I think his price was about 10% less than going direct to Dillon.

Dillon Screwed over there dealers a while back and started offering direct pricing that was the same as his dealer pricing. Therefore undercutting all of his current product on dealers shelves.

No dealer will carry his stuff anymore since they can't make any money off of it. The ones that do are just trying to drive traffic to their sites to sell other products, and the stuff generally ships direct from Dillon.

I've ordered all my Dillon stuff through Brain Enos. I've been extremely happy with the transactions and found his shipping to be a bit less than ordering directly through Dillon. Which is odd because when ordering through Brain your order does ship directly from Dillon.

One thing I have learned in the few months I've had my Dillon 550 is that the powder measure system works great on flake and ball powders, but can be quite persnickety when it comes to extruded powders. If you are going to load extruded like 4895 and Varget do yourself a favor and buy these two parts to adapt a Lyman 55 or similar powder measure:

You need the AT 500 die because the one that works with the 550 powder system is not compatible.

Some PM/linkages on other presses are more difficult than others. The downrod on dillon's measures would have to attach to the baseplate somehow on other presses.

The Hornady and RCBS PMs linkages are very similar to each other, and will mount in any station on any progressive press.

I bought a used 550 off ebay and it had a ton of small parts missing. Drove it up to Dillon and they ended up getting it setup for pretty cheap, but still ended up paying more than if I had just bought new from them. They told me they see this all the time with used purchases from unknown sellers. Be careful if you go used.

I too saved a few bucks by going to Brian Enos, but didn't automatically get the Blue Press, which has got to be worth something, right? Anyway, I ordered something later direct and now piss off the wife pretty regularly...

Dillon dealers are are supposed to sell at MAP. Real stocking Dealers get 22.5 percent off MAP plus they pay the freight from Dillon. The only discounting dealer on the up and up is Grafs for those with FFL CRFFL on file with Grafs.... BE gives stuff free...and pays the shipping...well.. when you do not stock stuff and have to carry inventory you can make better deals then someone who as to keep the lights on and pay rent heat etc....
Dillon shut down some fellow here on hide doing group buy....call Eric Harvey at Dillon for clairty rather then supposition...

Thanks guys - good information. Once I'm ready to pull the trigger I'll check out Brian's site more closely, as well I'll talk with the wife's cousin - he does all my FFL stuff and so I'll see what costs will be through that route also.

You can save quite a bit on shipping through Brian Enos. The last time I purchased a press I think I ended up getting free shipping from him due to the size of my order. You don't really have alot of choices when it comes to ordering Dillon stuff due to reasons stated above.
