I recently picked up a lightly used Savage 10FCP-K In .223. I’m wondering what you guys found to be the best factory ammo for them. I am currently limited to 300m range, but hope to find a longer range to practice on eventually.

Any and all help is appreciated.

It’s going to be hard to predict what you Rifle likes, as every barrel is different. My savage in .223 really liked Norma-Tac .223, bonus for it being cheap. I don’t think you’ll see a huge difference at 300. Try and find something that groups well at 100 yards and roll with it until you can stretch out.

You're going to have a hell of a time finding any 223 ammo right now, with very few exceptions.

I say start buying what you can find and see what your rifle likes.

fortunately there is still plenty in stock in my area of Canada. I was curious about bullet weight at 100-30 is there a big benefit to the heavy bullets, and generally what weight is recommended for the twist rate?

luckily the 223 shortage hasn’t hit Canada yet. I’m looking to stock up before it does.

There's printable target right here on the Hide.
And I second the 65 to 77gr bullets/ ammo, a 75gr A-Max would probably work very well. Good luck and post some results!
