Gunsmithing Best finish for new action??

howdy guys.. just picked up a Defiance Machine Deviant action. What are you recommendations on a finish? I’ve heard Cerakote is too thick and will bind the action. The folks at Defiance recommended Something called Diamond coat. Thoughts?

You can cerakote them but I believe Defiance takes some material off the bolt to loosen her up a bit.

I got mine salt bath nitrided (I believe that’s what it is anyway) from Bugholes.

You can do cerakote elite with a parkerized bolt. I am running one on a 750 bolt deviant tactical. Works fine.
