Few of us are going to pony up $22,000.+ for a "Tracking Point" rifle & auto-firing scope.

But we need to know several factors that affect long range shooting.

MY LIST FOR DATA-CRUNCHING GEAR:

Bushnell 1 Mile ARC LRF 10X42 binos.
for:
ANGLE (down or up)
BALLISTIC RANGE (W/ballistic "group" & zero range entered into binos)

Horus/Kestrel ballistic PDF/weathermeter
for;
ENVIRONMENTAL & BALLISTIC FACTORS (too many to mention here)

Bushnell HDMR scope W/ H59 reticle
for:
FAST AIMING POINT(S) (at various distances & winds)
FAST CORRECTION SHOT (if intiial hit was seen)

For hunting purposes atmospheric data can be acquired every hour to detect significant changes.
All other factors handled when game is sighted by using LRF binos and scope reticle - and marksmanship, of course.

Haven't got the Horus/Kestrel unit yet. Waiting for scope. Using mil-dot Burris in the meantime.

What do you use for "data crunching"?

I got:

1. angle cosine indicator mounted to rifle rail
2. a cheapie Frankford arsenal wind and temperature meter
3. Leupold laser range finder
4. Scopes with both mil dot and Horus H59 reticles
5. The software "Shooter" on my Galaxy S3
6. Chrony to get the velocity of my pet loads
5. anti cant device on all my guns
