what do you use to clean your ceramic stones? erasers ? water? soap & water ? tooth paste? denatured alcohol?

I use the large flat erasers, works pretty good but then you gotta clean erasers with a cloth, I tried soap (dawn) & water today didnt work that well but what kind of soap do you use?

An old timer long ago showed me that wetting a stone, lathering it with bench grinder dust, and scrubbing it on a piece of steel quickly scrubbs it clean and exposes fresh stone with sharp edges that'll cut quick/clean again.
Not sure how it work with ceramic but might worth a try.

I've always used a eraser. I found it had to be a certain type of eraser so you might have to play with different brands to find the right one to do the job.

India stones and such clean up in a flash with an old toothbrush and some mineral spirits.

I use a piece of lava rock and re-face the grinding stone. Works in a second or two.

There is a cleanser called Bartenders Friend that works great!
Yo can get it at most grocery stores, Lowes and Home Depot also have it. I prefer the liquid version.

Comet or Ajax, water & an old rag has worked for me for years.
