Best new actions for a 6.5 saum build Surgeon 591 ? Others

I’m going to build a 6.5 saum for Elk hunting and always used Surgeon actions are there other newer designs that are better ?
rifle will weigh 8 pounds 1 N 7 twist Krieger for shooting 156 gr Bergers

Not so much “better” as they are different. You will get 50 different answers from 50 different people and the fact of the matter is that it really just comes down to what you want.

LA/SA?
60/90*?
Ti/Stainless?
Prefit compatibility?
Etc. etc.

Good luck getting a Surgeon action......tough to find these days!!

Look at Defiance Machine Deviant actions....they have an XM length action that would work great for your 6.5 SAUM

Better features is so relative... kinda like what color is better.

So many good options, hard to go wrong these days. Any specific features you want?

For the price of a Surgeon, the Impact 737 is fairly popular in PRS circles these days. ARC Mausingfield is a little more, but offers some unique features. Big Horn origin is a nice budget option. To name a few.

Defiance has their own bottom metal specifically for the XM length actions. It feeds flawless.....its on their website.
