Primary optic is vortex viper pst 2x10x32 basically using the offset for 25 to 50 ydsWhat's the primary optic, what will you be using the offset to shoot at, have you ever run an offset before: so many questions.
My ARs with backup red dots sit on top, I much prefer lifting my head a bit over tilting the gun, changing my firing position, and learning a whole new trick. Add to that, the top-mounted red dot is easy peasy when wearing NODs, the 45, not so much.
Job picks the tool, and you have not been specific on the job.
i will look into the vortex thanksAnother vote for the Arisaka...just went down this road and after a lot of internet surfing when with the Arisaka Defense Offset Optic Mount...but instead of a Holosun I am using a Vortex Defender XL and the set up is great. Good luck picking your perfect pair.
thank u for the info will look at thatAs others have said, the Arisaka is an excellent stand-along offset mount. For an all-in-one mount, I tend to lean towards the Badger Ordnance C1 mounts.
looks good i checked it out thanksThe only thing I bought from T-Rex Arms was their offset mount. It is more like the height of your primary optic so it's just a rotation.
that looks nice i checked it outAthena Precision makes one that is adjustable and uses a gear type system to lock it into position. I have 3 of them. I run them for multigun and on my duty rifles. Top notch product and their CS is incredible.
thanks looked at the eps its nice curios what size dot did u go with?Assuming that you've already made up your mind to go with an offset rather than a piggyback, I'd suggest going with an Arisaka. What's nice about the Arisaka is that the mounts are designed to be in line with the axis of the bore and they offer the option to go either 30 or 45 degree with the cant. I run mine at 30 degrees and this results in the red dot coming in line with just a flick of the wrist and much less rolling of the rifle.
My chosen setup is to use a 407k footprint plate with a Holosun EPS. I much prefer the enclosed dots. If you actually take your rifle out to places other than just the range, you'll quickly come to appreciate the enclosed dot.
Still, I prefer a piggyback setup. It is much more flexible. You just have to watch the mounting method you choose. You want to make sure that, in the event the red dot takes a hit, it won't affect your primary optic. I'm not a big fan of add on rings that attach to the scope body.

The smaller one. I believe it's 2 MOA.Hello what dot size did you go with?
was thinking of a bigger dot for close up stuff maybe 5moaThe smaller one. I believe it's 2 MOA.
This. These are the superior options. The arisaka mount is great for a standalone offset. If you want an integrated system, the A419 mounts are awesome.
Yeah, I thought the same too and tried a 4 MOA dot. I found it to be too big for use on an AR. Depending on how far forward you wind up mounting it, it's gonna start to get too big. I zero my red dot for a 50/200ish zero and hitting a 10" steel plate at 200 is really slow with the bigger dot. For closer in, head shots got difficult somewhere between 25 and 50 yards, depending on how far forward you have it mounted.was thinking of a bigger dot for close up stuff maybe 5moa
Thanks good info appreciate it actually gonna go with the holosun full size EPS and so far the ariska mount.waiting for the holosun to go on sale they seem to be $344 with the green dot gonna wait for a saleYeah, I thought the same too and tried a 4 MOA dot. At least with a 2 MOA dot, you can bloom the dot to make it look bigger. With a 4 MOA dot, there isn't any making it smaller.
Good deal. Just in case you didn't know, the full size EPS comes with an RMR adapter plate to give you a few more mounting options. Thanks good info appreciate it actually gonna go with the holosun full size EPS and so far the ariska mount.waiting for the holosun to go on sale they seem to be $344 with the green dot gonna wait for a sale

yes those are nice troy makes some alsoGo with on top. If it comes down to having to go 45 offset your close to fucked anyway IMO.
If you want, put these at 45 as they are bombproof.
Don’t apologize. They make pretty ba holstersThe only thing I bought from T-Rex Arms was their offset moun
